I really want to like Dr. Price. He seems like a nice enough guy. But he has this way of making you feel like a lying, cheating, lazy pre-teen...I dunno, it just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. Today we got a worksheet outlining his editing marking skills. Just to make sure that we didn't think our writing was worth anything, he added several editing symbols. Here's just one of many:
TMSE!
Explanation: there are far too many surface errors for the final-draft of a college paper at an academically-prestigious institution such as GCC. The sheer prevalence of these errors reflects very poorly on you, indicating carelessness, lack of proofreading, lack of excellence, and/or an ignorance of grammar. The number of exclamation points indicates the magnitude of the problem.

So ya, I am now even more terrified. Who in their right mind sets students up to fear and/or expect failure so much?! Well, I'd write more, but this Technology of Instruction class looks to be a crucial one. Today we're learning how to open folders, use the mouse, and even minimizing text boxes and the like. Woo....challenging stuff here! ...why are my classes bi-polar?!
