Standing Strong

"These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, desrves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict the more glorious the triumph."

~Thomas Paine, December, 1776

"We are pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."

~2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Thomas and Paul sure knew what they were talking about! I've been under heavy spiritual attack this whole school year, this week especially. Standing strong in the face of opposition is always a difficult thing, but it is comforting to know that at least I'm standing for the right reasons. For those of you who don't know the whole story, you'll have to ask, because it's far too long of an explanation to write. In any case, your prayers for strength, wisdom, and peace are much appreciated this week and in the next few weeks as the future of my school, my career, and the lives of "my children" are decided.

What Teachers Make

Follow the link above. It's my answer to everyone who asks why I chose one of the most underappreciated and underpaid jobs possible.

Enough said.
