New Additions

Well I've decided to add some color and company to my room-turned-appartment. In keeping with my family's aquatic tendencies, I have two new betta fish. They are both much smaller than Skippy and have their own unique personalities. I've posted pictures for you all to see. (Sorry they're so blurry--I'm not the photographic expert in the family). Not feeling especially creative and looking for some audience participation (affirm my self-esteem and let me know people still read this thing!), I decided to take suggestions on names. So post away! Just put your suggestion under comment section for each fish. I included a little description of each to help.

This guy is pretty shy. But he's a beautiful teal color! Posted by Hello

More Friends

This fish is a bright red color. He's also very curious neighbor. He loves looking in on the teal one and flaring at him to get his attention. Teal doesn't seem to interested. Posted by Hello

Ohhh New England!

Ahh, it's good to be back in New England.

I went to Wal-Mart on Tuesday and what a difference! The Grove City Wal-Mart has 80 million handicapped parking spaces and usually several Amish families packed into a 15 passenger van or using their horse and buggy to go shopping. As I walked down the aisles of my home Wal-Mart, the first thing I noticed was that about 80% of the people I passed were wearing Red Sox t-shirts. Near the registers an older lady was talking to a friend in a beautiful, thick French Canadian accent. I'm visiting Jay at FSC today and everyone here has wicked strong Massachusetts accents. Jay talks about going down the hall to the "bubbler," although his friends would say "bubblah." And I know that there's sure to be at least one Dunkin' Donuts within a 5 minute drive from wherever I am.

It's good to be home!

The End of the Beginning

Sorry I haven't posted recently. I've been kinda preoccupied with finishing off the semester, studying/taking finals, and graduating. I was going to post sooner, but I still have yet to figure out exactly what I'm feeling or how to express my feelings into words that aren't cliche or inadequate. So, I'm going to take some advice from one of my favorite English profs, Dr. Potter: "Then we get to the end, and it's a little bit rough going, so we're going to mostly ignore it." Of course, he was referring to the symbolism at the end of Dante's Inferno, but I think it applies quite nicely to the complex and conflicting emotions I'm experiencing as a college graduate.

So here I am, back at home, sorting through the boxes of my life, trying to make order of the chaos. Things are starting to sort out, though I still have a lot of childhood junk that has accumulated in here that I need to sort through. Jay's graduating this Saturday and I'll finally get to meet his extended family. I also have a nice big stack of books waiting to be read so I can finish up my ACSI accredidation. And I'll start working at Little Arrows Childcare in June, teaching the Preschool 1 class. So I certainly have lots to keep me busy! I will try to be more faithful in updating, especially now that my friends are more scattered and this is an easy way to keep people updated on my life.
